Vent Pipe

Pretty sure i know the answer to this but just double checking with you guys. Im replacing my pwm charger with an mttp charger and pretty well have to put in in the same place as the old one. Anyway there is a vent pipe from the bathroom {not toilet} directly behind one side of the mounting area. I havent done it yet but would there be an issue if one screw went into the vent pipe.
Thanks guys.

I would not intentionally put a screw into the vent pipe. That is an issue waiting for a time to come back and bite you. Can you mount spice of plywood and then mount the charger to the plywood instead?

If I'm reading you right what you're asking is you want to mount the charger on the wall but your worried about a screw going through the wall and into a plastic vent pipe behind the wall? If that's it I don't see a problem you could always patch a hole in a vent if you needed to.

Good ideas here to work around the issue with mounting.

I would not intentionally drill a hole in a ABS or PVC vent pipe. Prone to cracking vibrating down the road after a period of time. Then the odors are now in the camper and walls.

As suggested mount the controller to a board then mount the board to the wall where it won't penetrate the pipe. Probably wouldn't be an issue but why risk it.
