I promise this is my last post about decorating . . . for a while. Everyone that put vinyl in their rigs . . . do you REALLY like it better than carpet? I've been looking at vinyl until my eyes are crossed. I wanted to do the squares but since I'm doing a stucco pattern on the walls, all the patterns on the squares just look too busy. The wood flooring doesn't look good with my cabinets - I've got the SUPER light maple (yuk . . .). I want to find a solid color vinyl square but I can't find one to save my life. I looked at sheet vinyl but the one that looks like "real" tile is so ridiculously expensive I hate to invest that much in it but may have to. I'm running around looking at vinyl remnants. I'm now concerned that the vinyl is going to get scratched by the slide, so I've decided that as well as carpeting the slide-out, I'm going to run the carpet along the front of the floor where the slide will come in over the carpet. AND, if you put vinyl down, what did you do around the stairs?? I can't see vinyl on that area - does it look ok? Anyone have pictures? Thanks so much for all the input. I'll have all kinds of photos to post when I'm done with this project!!

Here is the floor I just put in... I did a faux paint job on the walls to simulate a Tuscan building. Will recarpet next...

Wow - that looks really nice. What did you do around the stairs? That's my biggest concern right now . . . whether to carpet it or do the vinly on the sides of the stairs . . . .

For the stairs I'll be puting wood laminate just on the stair tops.. and that means the top step that is normaly covered in carpet.... they make a special stair edge molding to match. The reason I'm doing that is to cut down on the wear and tear on that top step.. the sides of the steps will be carpet.
