Vinyl plank installation direction

My main question is if installing click-lock vinyl planks left-right short side against the flush slide could cause any plank integrity issues versus RV front-to-back long side?

I plan to DIY install click-lock vinyl plank tile. I already tore out our carpet under our large flush slide before doing my homework on slide scratching issues. I read that many people said they wish they had installed their planks with the short sides against the flush slide to make it easier to fix planks that have been scratched by the slide. However, I don’t know if anyone has installed planks in this direction.

I am still deciding whether to use:
a. Lumber Liquidators CoreLuxe w/IPXE pad: 5mm, 12mil wear, SPC core, GreenGuard Gold Certified; or
b. Mohawk at Lowes: 4.5mm, 20Mil wear, PVC core, USA made

Both products are around 7” wide and 48” long. Although Mohawk is 20Mil, it still seems to scratch as easily as the LL and seems too flexible. I really wanted to use a USA made product, but I am leaning towards LL since it has an SPC core and feels like it is better quality.

I decided not to use the Allure Gripstrip product because it is only 4Mil and I am also nervous about being able to go back and fix problems during the installation.

I live in the DC area where temperatures and drastically fluctuate.

I used the Home Depot Lifeproof product and installed it lengthwise. I also flushed it out to our heated tile in the kitchen area with a 1/4" plywood subfloor. I use a thin (1/4") starboard floor protector for the slide as anything under the slide can and will scratch any flooring product. A shop in Oregon that did our shades installs flooring on a 45 degree as it makes it easier to fit. I did slide in carpet and main floor in vinyl.

Make sure you leave expansion gaps on the outer edges so when the sun hits it it has room to grow. Lifeproof has built in pad so it simply floats over subfloor.

My buddy laid his vinyl plank diagonally. Maybe he just couldn't make up his mind?
