I noticed today at my local Wal Mart that the Wal Mart campers are out in full force.
All parked in neat rows

I ENVY them!!! I CAN'T WAIT to get my TT out again. Next trip isn't for another couple of weeks.

I admit it, I'm addicted and I have NO interest in a 12-step program (unless it's 12 steps to my rig to hit the road!)!!

Interesting survey in RVTravel.com Question, Would you prefer, for a one night stay, a no frills $10.00 night at a RV Park or Free WalMart. 74% so far prefer $10.00 no frills.

I would pick 10.00 no frill if, it wasn't way out of the way & you could confirm a spit before hand so your not driving all over trying to find an available no frills space.
If your traveling I-55 & near where we live around the time you want to stop, it's a long way from here to a campground, but there are a couple walmarts right along the hiway.

A no frills $10 campground next door to a WalMart or other such store near an interstate would be ideal.

Campground owners have repeatedly dismissed this as unprofitable, too much trouble, etc. Some have tried it and claim the no frills customers would still try to use the pool, restrooms, etc.

My way of thinking. If there where land next to a Walmart store, it not is likely to be used for a one night cheap RV stop as the land would have more value for commercial store.

I agree,...
Also, since we shop at Walmart anyway, I'd really rather shop there AND spend the night. My biggest problem is finding a somewhat level spot along the outer parameter of the lot. When 'on the road', we usually stop later in the evening too. Walmart is an 'easy in/out' in the morning.

I guess I'm in that 26% group...

Since spending the night at Wal-Mart is a bargain I guess we could call it a fire sale. Stop Shop and Roll.

No one would ever try using amenities they did not pay for, would they?
