We did get sidetracked a little and there was a question about legal length limits.

That's just not right. There is a thread just for side-tracking. It's title is "Thread killer" or something like that.
There is another thread about legal limits on Snowbirds too.

There's no length limit on the 101...(try not to bust more bark off the trees though)....I think there is on Hwy #1 Carmel south to Big Sur .
I park overnite at WalMart when ever it is convenient for me.

I was a criminal court judge for over 30 years. I know in our part of the country, interstate highway rest areas are the highest crime areas in a rural county. I stay away from them everywhere.
