I love sleeping/dreaming, but is a waste of time.

Except there are very few things that can mess you up as much as not getting enough sleep on a regular basis

I've had some Vicoden nightmares lately. Sciatica sucks.

Lack of sleep is cumulative. It will catch up to you and you will sleep.

I understand that is a very poplar WM. Two of the guys that work for me drive past there on the way to work and since I have been talking about my plans they have been telling me there see RV's there EVERY morning when they go by. Tulaip Casino is nice too, I go there to play Poker now and again.

103 Wal-Mart/Sams in 4 years and I have yet to even feel the slightest unease. Been in a couple camp grounds and BLM areas that have scared the crap out of me though.

Wal-Mart - 24hr lights, often 24hr security. Unsafe? Boggles my little mind.

Ya know, I think the feeling of insecurity some talk about is really just a lack of actually spending the night at WM. I haven't stayed at as many as you, but maybe 50 or so and have never had any issues, either. The worst that has happened is a carload of locals goes by and honks their horn as a way of letting you know you are in their neighborhood. I can live with that.

The convenience of staying at Wally's far outweighs any perceived danger, but again, I've never felt any danger.

We took a look at the Casino, it has a dedicated RV area, but as best as we could determine from the rules board, one has to buy a parking permit or something, we weren't certain, it was raining and we decided Walmart was just simpler, especially with the poor signage the casino has directing you to the lot.

What madrona said!

It's funny, if I have some newbie RV friends on board their initial take is no way stay at a WM. But they relent - have to I'm driving - and once they have shined and showered in the WM lot in the morning after watching RedBox movies and munching on WM hot-to-go snacks all night, they are totally hooked on the drive-in drive-out convenience and can't wait for the next one. Never another thought about it after the first time.

Fear of boondocking comes to mind and that is translated to a fear of WM. For some having only 30amp is terrifying. It's all good.

Exactly! Even as many times as we have stayed, I still find myself saying, in the middle of a movie with a mouth full of popcorn, "I can't believe we are in a WalMart parking lot!! I'm not sure what it is, maybe feeling a little like you're doing something you shouldn't, even though you know it's alright. I LOVE stepping outside in the morning with a cup of coffee and watching people go to work knowing I don't have to! I encourage every RV'er I know to give it a try. Most of them just don't get the concept and never will experience what we experience.
