It's true that I didn't say the word "Walmart"- I'd hoped that the store in the background would be enough...

When I have to stay at a campground and pay $30 I kind of feel like I cheaped out. At Walmart it usually is $50 by time the nights done! If you don't want to park here then don't, the rest of us will get along just fine without you!

No, no no. The way to say that on this thread is: "While parking at Wal-Mart I heard there were...."

What really hurts is parking at Wal*Mart followed by Dollar Store... or as I call it, the Fifty Dollar Store... When the wife is along!

I love those stores where EVERYTHING is $1.00. The one next to my WM even has brands like Colgate, Campbell's, etc. I went in for a couple of $1.00 2-packs of 9 volt batteries and it cost me over $34.00.

Exactly! This particular one was next to the Wal*mart parking lot as well, and carries many name-brand products as you described. You'd have been in much worse shape if my wife had joined you, for reasons far worse than the obvious...

Walmart parking
I travel 4 to 6 months in the summer and always stop at Walmart when on the road toward my destination. I asked permission the first three times and was told each time I didn't need to ask as long as I parked on the perimeter. I also open my slide but always park in a way so my slide does not take additional parking spaces. I also run the generator when the temperature requires. I have never had a problem, and in fact, the managers I have spoken to say they are happy to have RVs in their lot for two reasons. First, they know we shop in the store. I usually spend over $100 when I stop. Second, they consider RVs additional security. Someone prowling the lot with the intentions of breaking into a car has to wonder if the RVer is looking out the window or may get out to walk a dog. In turn, parking at an all night Walmart gives me comfort from a security standpoint.
Opening awnings makes no sense to me as well as cooking outside. That, I believe, is crossing the line.

That's just showing off and abusing the privileges.

What is the difference of just parking at Walmart overnite in a motor home or sleeping in the bed of your shell covered pickup? I don't think camp grounds would let you spend the night in their camp ground with out a camper. JZi/

...but were you bound and gagged in the walmart parking lot at the time? If so, it doesn't count; You obviously escaped!
