We never had a problem with stones ,you see they can't get through the trees if your happy with Walmart great.
I just like a campsite it is part of the trip, and some of the campgrounds are good finds and we go back and camp at them, being in California no winter storage here camp all year long.
I do plan trips but we also are spontaneous and go when ever.

I don't know if this is a problem everywhere, but planning ahead won't get you an overnight stay at a campground on a weekend, at least not in New England. So Wal Mart camping is a big help for My wife and I who can only get away for a week at a time. We leave on Saturday, camp at WM (Biddeford Maine) then move on to the destination campground on Sunday.

I almost stayed at a WalMart in Jacksonville NC, but saw DriVer's post about a nice $25 after 6PM campground in Roanoke Raipds. That would have been my first Wal Mart - YES I AM STILL A WAL MART VIRGIN and it is all DriVer's fault. Ahh, now I fell a lot better and i stayed on topic.

Hello WalMart Shoppers! I have a few questions before the thread closes. I think all that has been said pretty much covers the topic. I would like to know where the fellowship comes in with the rigs staying at Walmart? I thought you would pull in and park and sleep and go. Then Where do you go at Walmart to find the manager? I do not frequant that store enough to know the layout. on my trip home, I did stop at walmart, parked a few yards away from everyone else, and left after a few hours of shut eye. Was I a bad Wallydocker? if so, please forgive me.

When I pull into a Wal-Mart I am usually looking to eat, grab some zzzs and go. As far as asking for permission to stay, just stop at the customer service desk.
