You will blend right in at a truck stop. Flying J truck stops usually have an RV section away from the trucks. We usually run the genny as needed until bed time and then shut er down however if its hot and humid we will run it all night as needed to keep cool. That would not be a problem as everyone else would be doing the same.

Oh ya except for the poor shmos that dont have a genny, they would have there windows wide open gasping for a breeze.

Kind of an unkind description of us mere mortals to describe us as "schmos", don't you think?

It's kinda' sad that the guy driving such a nice, big "coach" feels that way about the rest of us that merely tow something with our trucks, but maybe that's the way it really is.

As a guy who habitually carries tools, knows how to use them, and has a fair knowledge of diesels, if I saw you broken on the side of the road, I'd likely stop to see if I could help.

Now I gotta' wonder if any kind of reciprocation would be even considered, and maybe I should just re-think the whole thing.

There are some areas that might have a problem with that, probably in California.

More and more trucks have an APU to run a heater, air conditioner, and generator. My truck has a battery-powered A/C unit that you probablywouldn't notice running if you were next to me, although it is audible. It also has a heater unit (burns diesel, called a Webasto unit) that is also audible. If you parked next to me, I might hear your generator, although usually they are at the other end of the vehicle from my tractor. I sleep with earplugs in, so I wouldn't hear it much.

Yep, we got them one time in CA on the way through to Quartzsite. That night there was a dilapidated TT there with a piece of plywood for a door, that's what they try to keep out. Now, no RV overnight parking allowed by city ordinance.

No you took it the wrong way..... my statement was meant to be a light joke and with sympathy of someone who does not use a generator. Generators are not exclusive to motorhomes so no negative looking down my nose here...... besides that we are considering selling our motorhome and purchasing a truck and travel trailer........... and maybe no generator so we will be amongst the poor shmos gasping for a cool breeze on a hot night....... so please stop when you see me broken down because I am very not mechanically inclined.......

You still have a bit of egg on the left side of your chin. I'll have to remember this one "that it was a light joke" when a mod throws out an infraction notice. Won't work for them and sure as heck doesn't work for me. I took it for what it was, "a cruel remark about those that are less fortunate than most "coach" I mean MH owners.

Accepted....I've been guilty of worse. This is what I currently use and as you can see, I'm a bit sensitive about genny fumes.
