You probably figured right A retired trucker buddy warned me never to park my rig in a truck lot. He's seen guys slash trailer tires, stuff like that, and said it didn't matter much whether the space was needed. So much for Knights of the Highway!

I don't care much about what people think about Walmart parking.
I do think it is out of bounds to put out the awning and chairs.
Slides are a different issue some cant move around in there rig if the slides aren't out, so no big deal. If you are concerned, JUST ASK
I do know that WW doesn't mind and they do like the business RVers give them.
As with every thing it only take a few to mess things up

Anyone who feels awnings and chairs are a no no should definitely feel free to not use them.

This obsession with putting slides out or not is uniquely one RVers' notice, probably not the general public or even Walmart management. I really doubt that someone not familiar with RV equipment would notice (or freak out) that an RV has slides extended. Even jacks down would not be noticed, unless the unit was jacked up into the air noticeably. Putting out awnings, lawn chairs and a grill, well that's excessive for what is supposed to be an overnight stop, not a destination.
I think a lot of this is a tempest in a teapot that is our own making.

It truly was serendipidous. My point was not to suggest this was a common occurance but to comment on how some people are just so focused on parking at Walmart that they totally ignore other opportunities that are much better.
Seriously, the fairgrounds was literally across the road from Walmart, with signage indicating it was free for the first 24 hours. When I pulled in there was plenty of space in a nice grassy area with full 50 amp hookups.

I just don't see this "need" to put out awnings or chairs... I stay "overnight" at Wally World whenever the need arises, and since I'm still "working for a living" I usually drive late into the evening and it's usually after 10 pm when I do finally stop. I just want to grab something to eat and get some sleep so that I can hit it again in the morning.

Obviously, you wouldn't have the need. But I like to stop earlier these days, and if the sun's beating down and the awning can shade the sidewall of the trailer, I'd put it out.
There's no sense in trying to reach concensus here. One size doesn't fit all.
Now leave me alone. I'm going back to the game.

We stayed in Rock Springs Wy. last night at Walmart...
About 15 neighbors joined us as it's the only store headed east until Cheyenne about 250 miles away. Love My Walmarts!! Always willing to let us stay and courteous!
Tonight camping (acutally paying) in Pikes Peak Camp Ground at Manitou Springs, Col. just up the mountain from Colorado Springs...
Good Night Folks!

Awning out at noon on South side, interfering with no one.
Slide out in evening, interfering with no one.
Just sayin'...................
