We ran into a storm going through Little Rock on Sunday evening and decided to pull into the Wal Mart and camp. Went inside and asked the manager who could not have been nicer about it and told us if we needed anything during the night to just contact the night manager. We decided to do a whole bunch of shopping there and will continue to because of the hospitality they showed. A great port in a storm.

Diet Pepsi was a steal today!! $10.00 for four six packs @ 710 ml. No limit either so 8 six packs went for a drive.

They also had a deal on steel wool pads but we didn't obtain any.

I did chase down the Asst. Manager and asked about parking on the lot over night.

He said that there was no problem at all and offered to show me a good spot. Since it was barely noontime, I declined but I told him that I was thanking him in advance in case others "Forgot" to ask.

That got a laugh!

Well it's 4:30 AM and I've spent the night reading "WALMART" posts. I must say I find the intensity of the posts on both sides to be interesting. From the "I use Walmart but don't put the slides out" to the "I wouldn't drive on a Walmart lot if my coach was on fire and the only water was at Walmart" It seems to me that Walmart "parking" is a tool to be used when necessary but never abused so it will last a long time and always cleaned after use.

Yeah!!!! But can we hit 1000? And just to make this a "useful" post... The Wal-Mart on I25 Exit 150 Socorro allows overnight parking of both RVs & semi's. Facing the store, the lights on the far left edge of the lot do not seem to work (they were working last summer and they aren't this summer). It's not all of them but if you want a dimmer section to sleep in that is where you want to park. If you want lots of well lit parking, then you want to park on the far right side (in front of the garden section). 24 hour Dennys is within walking distance. El Camino Real Restaurant is across the street from WalMart (but we choose Denny's... personal tastes... we think ElCam is too $$ for what it is).

I am confident this thread will reach 1000 post. As new RVers come into the lifestyle, they will have seen rigs parked at their local Walmarts and will run across this thread. This will help them to know that they are usually welcome; with permission of coarse, and that they can pick up supplies while they are there if they want to.

That would seem to be the key to this topic.

If the mods would leave us alone to fight like cats and dogs, this thread would soar to 1000 by the end of the week
