The have tractor/trailer deliveries, so there has to be a suitable way in and out for you and your rig. Whether or not that allows access to the premium camping spots may be another issue. If Walmart allows or advocates staying overnight in their lots, it would make me wonder why the newer WM are built to limit access?

Since entrance and exit from rows in the parking lot are usually 2 lanes wide, I don't know why you'd have problems maneuvering in a WM lot. Even with one way lanes, there is plenty of room to get in and out. I skirt the edges looking for an area away from cars or where they might wish to park. Never been an issue! Also as Nitrohorse said, the trucks have to have an entrance and exit, go in that way.

Just possibly sate/local building requirements to be met to keep semi and passenger vehicles separated for safety reasons as well as trying to curb the hi-speed cross parking lot type traffic.

Our local Walmart lot, the one out closest to Hwy Four, has over the last few years become a haven for people selling everything from beautiful A Class units down to beater cars. At times it looks like a junk yard with some really awful vehicles someone is really desperately attempting to sell.
I wonder if any other Walmarts are succumbing to similar situations?

A friend took a picture of a roasted whole chicken in a HD parking lot in the DC Metro area.

Last winter as we were leaving Lake Havasu , We stopped to fill prescriptions . took 7 hours of waiting in lot . Security stopped by to ask if we were having problems . Other than poor service at prescription counter nope !
They do not allow overnight stays there . Suspect it is pressure from RV courts locally .
It was the only Walmart lot that ever questioned our parking . Was from noon till 7 pm getting prescriptions filled . This year we are going to Walgreen , friendlier faster service.

Last week when I was driving from Colorado I came upon a WM where signs said 'no overnight RV parking'. I asked the manager anyways for permission. He said:
"This is the official line. Walmart welcomes all RVers to stay overnight. The unofficial line is - city ordanance does not allow overnight parking but in the 8 years that we have had this law no one has been ticketed and we sure won't complain."
So we stayed overnight with no problem.
Moral of story is, even if there are signs saying 'no parking', ask anyways.

The Walmarts that have overhead obstructions as already said must have deliveries in the back so what if you parked out back and still asked permission? The down side is you sill be isolated, could be dangerous. The upside is if there is some ordinance against it, you will be out of site, out of mind.

We pulled into a Walmart late at night that had 'no parking ordinance' signs posted but there were several Rvs parked for the night. We joined them but at 3 am we were all evicted by the police.
