Speaking of overnight parking at Walmarts,... (there, got THAT outta the way)
A couple of weeks ago, while on our way from Colorado to Michigan, we stopped at a Walmart in Nebraska (or Iowa) and was getting a WiFi signal from the Home Depot store next door.
Moving to last week,.. we were in NC and were going to overnight at a Cracker Barrel and have breakfast there in the morning, but their lot was rather 'sloped'. We went down the street to a HD and 'asked' if they allowed overnight RV parking. We were told that HD parking lots are a 'safe-haven' for "truckers and RVer's" and were welcome at ALL HD's.
WOW! All that AND WiFi.

HD has 'free coffee', BTW but CB still has a better breakfast.

Well, I spent Sunday night at a Walmart near Freidericksburg, VA, so I guess I'm another one of those cheap low lifes. I had good company, though. Besides my American Tradition there was a Beaver Marquis and Tiffin Phaeton. Plus a couple of semi's that also overnighted there. Childish, indeed!

I don't understand why people must camp at Walmart. why not go to a campground. You should not feel free to do what you wish to do, you should adopt my opinions and conform to what I believe is correct. It is only my opinion that counts, you should change to suit my beliefs. How does your camping affect my life? Well it doesn't and is actually none of my business. So then why do I preach on how I feel you should camp? Good question. I should only express what I prefer to do without judging those who do differently. I do stay at Walmarts, I do use the slideouts, I have used a lawn chair and green turf for the dog to lie on while waiting for DW who is shopping.

You force the wife to do the shopping.....
LOL

I don't have to force mine..... she won't let me.... evidently the Green Giant brand is different than the Giant brand... what do I know, all I saw was a way to save money for LEDs.

Typing on the phone is a pain....
I forgot: IMHO parking with slides out bad.

It's the doggie carpet that is ruining it for everyone else. Cease and desist now. Repent foul person!

I have parked at a Walmart and will continue to park at Walmart.
I think the issue (and conflict) in this thread is the word 'camp' If I stop at Walmart while traveling, I am looking for a place to park, sleep, then drive some more. Maybe we should call it slarking or parsleep or something like that. I also usually shop a little and eat, so maybe Shoparsleepeat? Also, as I said before in this thread, (I know, no one ever repeats anything here) I doubt if anyone but a fellow RVer would notice slides out, jacks down. Only some of us seem to freak at the 'abuse' created by such actions.

At one of the Walmarts near me, I saw a MH with the slides out and the west side window awnings out. It was 115+° that day. Anybody find fault with that? BTW, he was parked in the back 40 with the semis.

No fault as long as he was plugged into one of the semi's APU otherwise on the asphalt the RV would be to hot.
