Wash Weekend 2016 is in the books! I've been keeping an eye on the weather for the last several weeks - watching and waiting for the opportunity to wash and wax our motorhome. Turns out that Fathers' Day weekend was the charm this year.
We got started yesterday - and gave the coach a good hand washing - from tip to tail. Unfortunately, I'm a city dweller which means we've stuck washing in the street in front of the house. After the wash - I pulled her around into the school yard that's just a couple hundred yards from the house. Once there, I polished the aluminum wheels, applied "shine" to the tires and washed all the windows - inside and out. The outside windows then got an application of Rain-X.
This morning - I got help in the form of my 25 year son and one of his buddies. (I had to make my case for "free" labor - but in the end managed to make the sale!
) My oldest jumped up on the roof, grabbed a spray bottle filled with 303 Fabric Guard and sprayed all the slide toppers and awnings. He then hand waxed the entire roof. Closer to the ground, his buddy Bill and I hand waxed the sides. DW got in on the act as well and did the front of the coach.
Here's a couple of pics of the finished product. I especially like the shot of the road side of the coach. You can see a reflection of the "molester van" (the white Ford Econoline cargo van that serves as my daily driver!).
I'm tired, sore and more than just a little sunburned ... but happy as hell that Wash Weekend 2016 was a success and behind me!!!!!
