We have the original stackable units and agree with those who’ve mentioned the benefits of having a separate washer and dryer.

I’ll add that the dryer is very lightweight. I’ve pulled mine out several times and it’s easy for one guy to handle. So, thinking you’ll save on weight shouldn’t be a consideration, though added space with the combo is a consideration.

If you have the available space then I would go with the stackable. JMHO
