Washing machine detergent
Just wondering what form of detergent people are using in their washers. ! We have a 2020 Fleetwood Pace Arrow with a Whirlpool washer, not the combo one, the dryer is separate.
My wife has been using liquid detergent and we were wondering if anyone has or is using the detergent pods instead of the liquid

We use detergent pods since it avoids any spillage and mess.

We never use pods for a few reasons. One is that there are too much detergent for the size of drum of the smaller washers. The second is that if the water used isn't really hot the plastic pod shell will not dissolve completely. They can get clogged in the drain line when the washer drains causing a real mess, not to mention having to pull out the washer and pull the back off to clear the clog.
Not worth the risk for a minor convenience.

Pods are generally too much detergent for the smaller RV washers. We stick to Tide HE liquid.
Read the manual for the washer and see what is recommended for your washer.

We've been using the Tide pods in our Whirlpool stacked washer/dryer unit in our coach(es) since 2014 with none of the issues mentioned above.

Pods have too much detergent for the smaller washer in the RV. We have been using about a tablespoon of Tide HE in ours for four years. Results are clean clothes and no soap buildup.

You can get "sheets" that have laundry detergent in them. (similar to dryer sheets). They are great as they can't spill, and store easily. Cut them in half if you want to use less.

What does your manual say? We've been using the pods since they came out and have never had an issue in any of our units. There are other options. The manual for your washing machine should tell you what is recommended in your machine.

We - meaning my wife - uses pods. Never had any problems from them. Definitely never had one fail to dissolve and she only uses cold water.
As far as referring to the manual, the Splendide unit in our DP was built in 2004. Pods were not a thing back then.
I recently went through the cleaning process for the unit and there was no evidence of any buildup or other issues.

Agree, these washers need very little detergent.

We don't have a washer in our RV, but we use the laundry detergent sheets at home and on the road. They're nice to take in the motorhome because they don't take up much space, generate no waste, and work well. These are the ones that we use: https://www.amazon.com/Tru-Earth-Eco...dp/B07SPYNRWZ/

I think my maid uses liquid Tide he.
Since she doesn’t read this, I can poke fun at my DW. She’d butcher me if she knew I called her the MAID. LOL.

I am nearly certain that Our Whirlpool manual says not to use pods as there may not be sufficient water to dissolve them.
