Watch your speed on those turns

This happened this morning on WB I-80 just west of Battle Mountain Looked like no injuries but not much fun either.

Is it just me or do the majority of these RV crashes involve a SUV & a bumper pull?

According to your GPS that is a gentle curve, not IMO enough curve to cause lose of control of a vehicle.

That is what is called driving too fast for conditions. Their conditions were an inadequate tow vehicle for that trailer.

It was probably a death wobble type of thing or just another person going way too fast.
Really fortunate that the people following were able to avoid.
This looks like it could have easily been a multi vehicle pile up like in Nascar.

It wasn’t an extreme turn by any means. That was the exit of a long turn that was over 90 degrees, down hill, but not severe. Probably going too fast, got a little out of shape, over-corrected, etc.

People were driving fast, and that blue car changing lanes in front of me actually passed me after traffic was restricted to one lane about 100 yards before the scene. 4th of July weekend and everyone in a hurry.

Did you stop and ask what happened ?

Maybe another RVer cut him off causing him to swerve.

Why does it have to be something HE did ?

Others around him never make mistakes ?

I think all we really know is the location, date/time and some idea of tow vehicle and some kind of a bumper towable. Not much else really.

IMO- way too many people like to jump to conclusions with only limited information about many different issues.

Glad it did not appear to be any serious than than appears on the one picture.

None of us really know what happened but it looks like the right front might be down on the tow vehicle which could account for a lot of things. Too bad they had a bad weekend but on the plus side of the ledger it looks like everyone is OK.

Didn’t stop. Fire and EMS on scene waving traffic on. Just looked like a bad day for them and a good reminder for others. Traffic was really heating up as we headed further west.

About the only thing that you can say for sure is that the driver of the motorhome was practicing distracted driving - taking a picture while driving.

Yeah well at 5mph not a lot can happen - it’s a lot less distracted than looking at an MDT while talking on two radios and driving code three and I was pretty good at that so this isn’t enough distraction to even register for me - YRMV so I make no recommendations for anyone else.

Frankly I expected that comment a lot sooner, but felt the PSA value was worth a little ridicule.

Thanks for sharing. JoeSR sounds like the grumpy dude in the camping spot next to you who complains that your camp fire is blowing smoke on his RV. Some people need to just chill.

Also- had to look up YRMV. Learned something new today.
