We made it home!!

Just flew down to Austin, TX to drive our new to us Lazy Daze home to Virginia Beach , Va over the course of 5 days. It was just about 1500 miles in total.
It was quite a journey having never owned or driven an RV...let alone one with a toad.
Thanks to those who sent me tips and trip routing ideas.
We ended up taking highway 79 out of TX and it was a great country drive with some great small towns.
We stayed the first night at Tall Pines RV park in Shreveport, LA. Great place and friendly staff.
The next day was very stressful driving through Mississippi. There was weather, horrible roads, wall to wall trucks and traffic. I certainly earned by RV driving badge that day. By the time we hit Tannehill State Park in AL we were beat. Great park and staff there was well. There were deer just wandering in and out of the RV sites. It was amazing.
The next day we pushed to SC. Atlanta was another stressful day but made it out with out incident. We stayed at a KOA in Gaffney, SC. Had some issues with our 30 amp plug due to carbon build up. They sent over a a guy that cleaned the prongs on my plug and that cured the issue. He kept coming by to check on us. Another great campground with a great staff.
We pushed home on the last day without any issues.
It was a great trip home and by the time I got home I feel like a pro driving this thing and can handle almost anything situation.
Thanks again for this great forum.

Glad all went well for you on your first new adventure. Hope you enjoy your new to you rv. For safety sake, you may want someone to check out the 30A plug. Being it had a build up on the blade could mean that there is a loose connection inside. At one time or another there may have been some arcing going on either casued by a loose connection at the receptacle it was plugged in to or as I mentioned a loose connection within the plug itself. Be safe and Happy Motoring!!!
