We put a Purple king mattress in our RV.

One of the first things we changed in our Arctic Fox 29-5T was the king size torture device called a mattress. Looked at many options, read many reviews, talked to many people and found that decent RV mattresses are very expensive, probably due to the size. My wife hates memory foam, it isn't comfy for her and she complains about it making her hot (I told her she was already hot, of course). Found a Purple 2 mattress for a great price, tag stated it was 72" wide X 84" long. Measured it and it was actually 72" wide X 80" long which is one of the standard king RV sizes and it fit fine in our 5th wheel so now Momma's happy. So happy we bought one for the stick house too. Purple mattresses are heavy, I think either king is over 160#, but it's worth it to be able to sleep comfortably. 3 dogs are happy too!

I hope it works well for you, those things are expensive. I'm currently researching mattresses for my S&B and Purple is on the list. I would be interested in your opinion of your Purple a few months from now.

Purple Mattress

I'm looking into becoming a full-time RVer and one of my criteria for choosing an RV is one that will fit my Purple 3 queen. I just spent a lot of money on it, and I don't want to have to dump it because it doesn't fit! It's not a perfect mattress, but it's about as close as it gets!

Consider buying a latex or a latex hybrid mattress, we bought one for our house a few months ago and love it, the one we bought is a Flexus Quadr-flex which has a pocketed coil base section with 3 inches of latex on top. So much better than the 5 year old Beautyrest Black series mattress we had. Latex is nothing like memory foam, I hate memory foam, but love latex, it is much more like sleeping on a good innerspring mattress, but better with more even support.

We've had one in our RV now for over 3 years and it has been great. It is a Purple 2 which is a little firmer than the 3. I had to add a center support under the bed, the Purple mattresses uses a solid base. We both have 70+ year old backs and having a comfortable bed to sleep in makes "camping" fun. I didn't pay anywhere near the listed retail price for either of these mattresses, I wouldn't/couldn't justify over $2,400 for one!!!

We just put a Purple mattress in our truck camper. We had to worry about mattress height because we had a side cabinet that the door swings over the mattress. I have a bad back and this mattress is amazing. It was expensive but well worth it to me.
