Weekend On Current River

Just spent a fantastic weekend with some friends on the lower Current River floating, diving and enjoying some great weather and food.
This is an annual outing on the river at my home town and the river is always awesome. Slowly getting the mods up to speed on the new Layton and looking for some more fun things to do. Hopefully, one more outing before the weather gets crappy. Hope everyone is getting some camp time on the calendar.

The currant and black rivers in mo. along with many other sites such as elephant rock, Johnson shut inns and many others are great places for family fun.

We were at Meramec this past weekend. Friday night rain had the river a little high. That campground looks nice. I too would like to know the name of the campground.

The one we use the most is Rocky River Resort (friend of mine owns it) Canoe Current River, Doniphan Missouri, and there is also KC's on the Current, KC's on the Current, Doniphan, Missouri. Current River Canoe Raft Tube Kayak Float Trips, plus they manage one of the Forest Service campgrounds, Deer Lodge, which is nice. Info available on their website. One we really liked is the new campground at Johnson Shut-Ins. Awesome. The Rocky River Resort is in need of some sprucing up but is okay for the money. Front row has some full hook-ups with cable. Back side are E & W only but closer to the river and away from the road. Just too many nice places to visit and not enough time.
