Well, Well, Well, CW comes crawling back
Interesting that the market is so hot now but yesterday I got a sales call from Camping World. We had looked at some units 2 years ago and they were following from that list
So about 10 minutes later I get a second call from the same Camping World lady and she goes on with the same pitch for about 2 minutes before I can get a word in. She wasn't a scammer (I am merciless on them) and seemed like a nice lady so I didn't interrupt her. I mean its just her job - no reason to be rude to her.
I politely said "No worries but you called me 10 minutes ago and we are still in the same position of not looking."
She was very nice but I was surprised to see CW doing outbound calls.

I think it’s starting to cool off. The dealers lots have more RV including more motor homes.
Leave it to CW to not institute a program well.

Interesting point Derek.
I would hate to be in charge of ordering inventory at a dealership. Camping World probably carries a lot of weight with their suppliers and their lots are likely filled up first.
Now they may have full lots and a fickle public where demand shut off as fast as it turned on??
Only Marcus Lemonus knows for sure but I think we can be assured that they weren't dusting off my 2 year old number because they are flying off the lot!

In The Seattle area some of the lots are so packed you can barely open a door and you might have to move two just to get to the one in the back.

Well, at least she didn't tell you that your car warranty was about to expire!

Yep....getting 3-4 of those a week. I have nothing to do, so the call goes one of two ways.....I tell them that they called me about MY car, so which one are they talking about. Last week the lady said it's a privacy issue, I need your name and type of car. I asked her to tell me my first name.....she hung up.
The second response....I tell them I have a 1970 Ford Econoline van. When they ask what other car I have, I tell them it's a 64 Ford Fairlane. They usually hang up.
I'm retired, so I decided if they want to waste my time, I'll waste theirs.

Sounds like Lazy Days RV in Florida, I was considering a specific coach from them in 2016, but could not get them to measure the exact height of the coach before flying down there to buy (needed to know if it would fit through my roll up door), talked to a salesmen about needing this information before buying and why 3 days in a row, ended up buying the same brand and model of coach 1 year older from a Private seller in Florida not far from Lazy Days the next week.
Last year I received a call from them asking if I was still in the market to buy a motorhome.

I need to check with one of my buddies to see if they have called him. Last time I was at Camping World, I gave them his number.

I was in Rapid City a couple months ago and Camping World’s lot seemed pretty full of inventory.
But nothing compared to their lot in Monticello, MN. I just drove past that area today and both Pleasureland RV and CW’s lots looked full to the gills. Lots of trailers and MH.

New-ish Gander Camping Outdoors World lot near my stick/bricks seems to have many more units on the lot compared to only 3 months ago.
The independent dealers in my general area seem to be acquiring inventory, mostly seeing recent vintage TTs and older Class A gassers.
A regional dealer was advertising "don't winterize, sell us your RV". Time will tell.

The CW south of me in Oregon has been full for quite some time. Meanwhile all the other local dealers are low on units. [Mod Edit]?

cal dealer had an almost bare lot through August. Wall to wall MHs/ trainers when I drove by on Wednesday. Getting an email a day from them. Luckily nary a CW within 100 miles though the store we bought our current 5er went to the dark CW side a year or so back. Too bad as they were decent folks though a bit far away at 150 miles. Wont go back now.

Would be happy to see things getting back to somewhat of a normality.

We're currently shopping for a 5er to replace the one we lost last fall to flooding. It's still a nightmare trying to deal so dealerships are still trying to take advantage of the hot market. We're in no hurry so time is on our side. I'm really hoping we get the leverage soon.
Yesterday we looked at one. When it came number talk time they basically took their asking price and added tax and that was the "out the door price". I countered with what I thought was a low-ball offer that was MSRP - 25% out the door. They came back at $1000 less than their first offer which worked out to msrp - 19%. We left.
