What do you leave outside at your campsite?

Once we set up camp, like many people, we’ve got thousands of dollars of gear outside. Portable panel, griddle, spare propane tank, generator, etc, etc, etc. on our last trip to a NP, other rvers told me not to leave stuff out if we went on an excursion. We do cable lock the generator to the bumper, and put away the portable panel, but wondering if we’re setting ourselves up for a rip-off. 30 years ago, it just wasn’t heard of, but today?

What are your thoughts, and what do you leave out.
Have you been ripped off?

Pretty much everything stays out. I did have my generators stolen for my TT one time after going to bed and forgetting that they were not locked up. That was a very expensive error.

We have eBikes now and they will be locked up.

I leave minimal stuff out, mostly lawn chairs, rug, 4x6 pop up canopy, cooler and cheaper coleman grill. I usually lock the mountain bikes to the bumper.
No thefts yet, other then went I forgot to put the dog food container away. Lots of little paw prints were found trying to get the rest of the food. The two Shepards are the best security I can have.

I generally leave out stuff I don't want. Have been leaving out some camp chairs I don't like. Hoping someone takes them, but nobody has as of yet. Even thieves don't want these camping chairs.

Mostly state parks for me. Always leave out expensive bikes not locked, never a problem. Occasional I leave the keys in the Suzuki Burgman with helmets on the picnic table because I forgot but never a problem.

Mostly the same. I leave a bike out chained to one of the slide runners on the MH.

For us it usually just chairs and a cheap portable grill. I almost always turn on the alarm on my motorcycle, but seldom lock or chain it up.

We don't have nearly that much stuff out, but never a problem with theft so far in the past 50 years.

But I gotta ask, what's a "Portable panel"?

Everything.....

I set up and nothing gets locked or put away until I tear down to leave
I don't even lock the compartment doors until day of travel

All the years of Camping and RVng only thing ever stolen was a six-pack of beer----course it was a crowed weekend

As to the 'portable panel' ---take that is a Solar Panel set up on the ground

These days I want to, but trust nobody.
I may leave my little weber out that's it.
They steal your Amazon boxes in broad daylight why not at camp?
Losers.

Made me laugh cause we’re in the same situation right now! They’re like 20 years old and have held up well, but it’s time.
