What is This Pole for at CG?

We’re at a state park; we’ve seen these before and DH asked “what is it for”...

Wet towels?

Lanterns?

It has hooks on the little ends.

Please enlighten these noobs.

The ones we've seen are for hanging lanterns like the older Coleman gas ones like this:

In reality they can be used to hang just about anything.

Primarily lanterns. Most campgrounds don’t allow hanging or attaching things to trees.

Yep, used them to hang a trash bag to keep critters from getting into them. However, raccoons seem to be able to do it anyway so, we stopped using the pole for that.

for hanging whatever you want, I love when my state park visits provide them
and tie the dog off them also if needed
chain a bike if required
A great little addition to do whatever you want with those suckers

This very interesting to me, I've never seen one. What part of the country are seeing them in?

That’s definitely a lantern pole. [ATTACH]
Some might find them useful for kids that keep wandering through campsites. Something like this???

thats for garbage bags, to keep them off the ground for tenters, though you can certainly hang any of your children up there, if you prefer, or if they do : )

Don't hang trash on the ones in Arkansas because the crows will tear them open.
