What part is this?
Hi all,
Does anyone know what this part is called and what it does? It is under our kitchen sink and it goes to our Moen kitchen faucet.
Background: after dewinterizing, our kitchen faucet stopped working...no water flow using either the pump or city water. The bathroom sink, toilet, shower, washer, outdoor faucet all work. Under the sink I loosened the water line past the valve and water sprays out so I'm pretty certain water is getting to the faucet. The aerator is clear, although I'm now soaking it in vinegar to be certain. It is very tight under the sink to work, so I just loosened a water line - not removed it, and water sprayed so I'm pretty sure its getting water. I've seen reference to a Moen Dura-lock, is that what it is? More importantly, what could be causing our faucet to no longer work?

That's the quick disconnect for the spray hose.

It's the quick disconnect for the sprayer. It shouldn't have anything to do with your faucet problem. So, you're getting no water from the sprayer or the faucet with the aerator removed either? Sounds like a problem with the faucet cartridge.

Yeah, we just disconnected it and there's no clog in there. So what could be the problem you think? Frustrated!!!

This faucet has the pull down sprayer, so the faucet and sprayer are one unit. My son is actually buying a cartridge now. But online I didn't see anyone else complaing of no water flow due to a cartridge.

Put in a new cartridge, small water flow for a couple seconds, then stopped. Now getting just a drip, drip, drip. Soaking the whole sprayer in vinegar now.

My Moen faucet had a miniscule restrictor where the hose connects to the sprayer. IIRC it was in the sprayer, if not check the hose.

On ours there was a second screen filter at the plastic disconnect that was plugged with mineral debris from our very hard water. Took it out and left it out. Figured one screen at the end was enough. If not that then there must be some obstruction elsewhere in the pullout hose.

On ours it was plugged at the tip of the faucet, unscrew the tip and look at the screen

Our faucet is finally working! Replacing the cartridge was of no help and the aerator was clear. Turned out vinegar was the magic potion. The black toggle switch on the sprayer handle that switches between full stream and aerated was apparently clogged. Soaked the sprayer in vinegar for a few hours and got just a half pencil of water flow, then soaked it for an additional 24 hours and its back to normal. I imagiine most folks would have just replaced the faucet and been out $200+. Thank you all for your help...appreciate it!!!
