Down shift and gently apply parking brake to slow down.
Nice thing about air brakes if you loose air pressure your gonna stop if you want to or not.

Parking brake will hardly be noticeable when applied at speed on a large gas coach.

Leave parking brake off

Not to be confused with an emergency brake.

DO NOT APPLY AT SPEED!

I hope that is clear enough, but if anyone still wants to try applying theirs at speed, let us know how it turns out.
After reading the posts on this subject, I think I will follow this strong advice. Just shift down and muscle it to the side of the road.(although, as a last resort, I might try anything)

Agree. There is a myriad of reasons why the belts can break. The serpentine belts should be replaced at least every 5 years. At every oil change, all belts should be examined for unusual wear and if any is found, find the reason for the wear.

I understand an ac locking up and the havoc that can create, but chances are that ac was already making unusual noises and same thing with any other components run by that belt including power steering pump, idler pulleys, etc.
