What To Do With...

The head from my WDH?
I made some hangers for the spring bars that someone posted on here.
But what do you do with the head?
I have a big trip planned this summer, and don't really want to leave it on the back of the truck for a week. I will if it's a quick 2-3 day trip, no worries there.
I saw this thing on Amazon that locks the bars and head to the tongue, but there are other things I'd rather spend the $150 on.
All tips and ideas are welcomed!

You could just put the ball into the coupler and let it hang there. To keep it from walking away it could be secured with a pad lock through the latch. Personally I just store all the hitch hardware in the right front storage compartment.

Would a thin shank padlock through the retaining pin hole on the top of your tongue coupler not hold the WDH head if inserted, closed and locked?

I'm assuming you want the WDH head to not "wander off"... forgive me if I've misunderstood your question.

Nope, that's it.

I have a locking hitch pin so I can leave it in the hitch receiver. Cost about $30 and keys itself to your ignition key the first time you use it. They have them for all brands of trucks.

If I stay somewhere longer than a week I put it in the pass through.
