ChiefJohn, I assume you are talking about the USPS's Premium Forwarding Service. If so, they will only forward to one address, not multiple as you travel. And it costs way more than $20/month...enrollment fee is $15 and then it costs $13.95 per week for the forwarding.

JollyJim, you say you hate to ask your neighbor to pick up your mail all the time, but unless you really aren't friends, this is probably your best option. Before you leave, provide them with several pre-paid Priority Mail envelopes and then call them occasionally to find out what's there. If there is anything important that can't wait until you get back, have them mail them to you at General Delivery in some small town in Alaska...I would avoid trying to have mail sent to you in Canada because it can take a couple of weeks or more for mail to clear Customs.

Bring your neighbor back something really nice from Alaska as a thank-you gift.

The USPS also has on-line instructions that many have reffered to having done via phone calls. Some postmasters/clerks are more cooperative than others . For non motorhome Rv'ers the Good Sam club has a mail forwarding service like the one described for FMCA. Escapees does also. South Dakota agents advertise for the same type service. You simply have PO forward to the service and tell the service where to send the stuff once a week or so.

I am intrigued by the UPS store capabilities because that is what is necessary to get residency transferred to non taxing states. Sounds very cool.
