A new bike rack. Actually bought for the TOAD as we have been mounting them between the coach and the toad up to now.

I just bought these replacement blue ox safety cable kits. https://amzn.to/2Cbse7V I really really like the new type of keeper. I never liked the rubber ones, these new style are so much easier to use. I know its an exaggeration but it feels like it takes 5 minutes less to hook up and the same when unhooking! This upgrade has made me a "happy camper". -Bill

Dometic Fridge not getting cold

We have a 2019 2109S Minilite and have put up with the fridge never getting cold enough. The freezer worked fine but the fridge stayed between 38-40 degrees and when it got hot out always above 40 degrees. Always had the stock thermistor to the top of the fin and did not ever get cold enough. I read about the Thermistor adjuster from Dinosaur Electronics that fit my Dometic Fridge. Ordered the unit, installed it and set the dial midway between the coldest and warmest setting. Run the fridge overnight on electric, went out to check the temp this morning and found the temp to be 26 degrees, WHAT? I am a HAPPY CAMPER. Out side temps were 70's and daytime in the low 90's. It was an easy install, fit perfect and can not say enough good about this. Here is the link for Dinosaur Electronics which carries these adjusters for a number of different fridges. https://www.dinosaurelectronics.com/Dom_adj.htm

A tablet holder bracket thing. I recently found out about the "Copilot" GPS app. I saw no real reason to put it on my phone as I don't like using it as a GPS device. It occurred to me to have a look at my seldom used 10 inch Samsung tablet. Yes, it has a GPS! So I ordered the holder. I already have a sandbag thing on the dash but I figure I will have to lay the bracket over so the tablet rests one edge on the dash for actual stability. I hope.

I like the 7 inch screen built in to the wife's car as a very quick glance is all it takes to see which lane I'm supposed to be in, etc. Versus squinting at a phone screen stuck up on the dash. The 10 inch screen should be the business. I can't wait to try it. There's a version on Amazon that runs rather more but has a stabilizing extra leg. But I bought this other one anyway. I don't really do Amazon.

It's been a busy (expensive) month for the RV so far.

  • Wheel bearing grease seals, seal puller, bearing packer, grease, and bearing seal installer kit.
  • New Ryobi cordless 1/2" impact driver since my old corded one won't hold on to the sockets anymore.
  • New sewer hose kit
  • Magnetic bumper end caps
  • 1/16" vinyl coated wire rope and ferrules to tie said magnetic bumper end caps to the bumper when/if they fall off.
  • 2'x4' resin folding table to stow behind the couch for those times we need extra table/work space.
  • Various RV automation sensors and relay boards.
  • A new mattress and sheets, returning to the RV Queen size from the standard Queen.
  • A new "Speed Box" receptacle to install under the table. Manufacturer installed the only outlet in the slide at the base of the table where you have to crawl around under the table to get to it.

- Annual maintenance kit for the Oasis Hydronic unit (I don’t do this annually)

- Air and fuel filters for the generator

- Transmission fluid analysis kit

- LED bulbs to replace the incandescent exterior porch and security lights

- 2x8’s and plywood to build a few more leveling blocks

6 ft of 8 gauge wire to replace the 12 gauge wire that powered the Jabsco macerator pump.

The Theford Turbo 400 requires more amps.

As a bonus, I found a small propane leak while under the tank.

Cell booster!

WeBoost Connect RV 65.

I have high hopes for this. Started the install last night with the internal antenna since that cable run was the trickiest through the ceiling. Had to cut one of the COAX cable ends off for the very narrow feed through, but found some new ends from the old days in a box of AV cables and supplies. Pack ratting pays off again.

The telescoping antenna pole is very large - 25’ and about 2.5” at its widest. This is the kit designed for stationary, at-camp usage and has the highest FCC legal boost of 65db. I’ve worked out a portable stabilizer that I’ll share in another post when done.

At $650, this seemed very pricey, but since they’re back ordered all over because of the boom in RV sales, the law of supply and demand is proving itself again. I fed the beast.

Looking forward to getting to test this out in a free weeks, near the beach.

(sorry about the photo orientation this time. It is so difficult to post quickly from smartphones, here. )
