Twin boat is correct on above posts. There are no 220/220 in residential. Also almost if not all developed areas are not 110/220 anymore it’s been raised to 120/240v. Many still say 110 outlet when really it’s 120 now.

I think maybe you lost some of the context? I was describing how an electrician incorrectly wired an outlet that was intended for RV use, causing damage to my parent's RV by putting 220V into both legs. The point was to check a new RV outlet before using it, even if an electrician installs it.

How to get two 220V legs from residential split phase? Wire one hot to the neutral, and split the other hot to what should have been the two 120V hot contacts. Stuff the neutral into the back of the box with a wire nut on it. (Yes, the electrician really did this!) That will give 220V on both legs of the RV outlet. Yes, when a grounded load is plugged in, the neutral not being neutral will cause the breaker to trip, but that takes a few milliseconds - apparently long enough for damage to be done.

Rebuilt rear level jack. One of the rear level jacks had a slight leak since we bought the motorhome. Well, it turned into a fluid dumper of a leak. Time to do something. Lippert wants ridiculous $$$ for a new jack. I removed it and took it to the local farming machine shop. $240 later and I re-installed it and works like new. Also took the 2 landing pads off the rear jacks and straitened them out in a friends press. Previous owner must have set them down on a curb. Looked like a hard taco shell.

New House for RV

Last June, we bought our coach a house.. Unfortunately, garage door was only 12' coach is 12' 4"... After being hung up by a contractor referred to me by a trusted friend (not his fault contractor has "issues") I've finally gotten a contractor working on the project!!

Forgot to mention, we need to add 4' to the depth so we can get the coach in and close the door... which I'm modifying the height of.. (door contractor wanted to install complete new 18' x 12' 7" door.... I'll take some construction photos and add later.. this is what shop looked like in real estate photos.. It's going to be nice to get her indoors! We bought her at 10yr's old always stored covered, we did same until buying this new house last year... we actually lived in coach in front of shop for a couple months while other dwelling sold so we could get our furniture... coming from living in condos for years, this is heaven!! SPACE to do things!!!
