I have two 100AH lithium and on our last trip discharged them fully. If that happens your alternator could be damaged as they appear as an almost dead short because they can absorb so much power. Im adding a Victrom DC to Dc charger to limit the current from the alternator. I also was able to buy the new control panel for our Magnum inverter that has settings for Lithium batteries. You need this to limit charge current from the generator. Two lithium fully discharged and charging at 1C can take 200 amps. I lived for a long time and never totally discharged them and was amazed when the generator was overloaded. I reset the possible current to the batteries to about 50% of the generator capacity so fridge and other appliances can run like the coffee maker.

Brandi, are those gell cell's? My electrical panel has a setting for battery type that includes gell cell. I'm in the R&D phase of deciding to upgrade my old four flooded 6v batteries. Going lithium is starting to sound scary!

Last thing I'd want to do is fry something electrical on the Freightliner chassis! EVERYTHING is hard to get to on my coach! Did you have to do anything special with your setup charger/alternater wise?

This is more than just a battery for battery swap then... Where did you find the newer control panel and how much?

Couple other questions if you don't mind! Do you have to rewire the control panel or does it work with existing wiring? To avoid the full discharge, couldn't you do that on the cp presets? Do are your batteries "drop in" replacement with built in battery management syste, (BMS) SORRY FOR 20 questions!!!

The performance and service life of lithium is enticing.. I really need to research more!

Thanks for the info!

Just purchased two Lippert 360 siphon vents and four used Cadillac horns (A,C,D &F tones). Hopefully that will cure the occasion smells and put the fear of God to those pesky 4-Wheelers.

These are lithium (LiFePO4) batteries. They are like a gel as you donít have to service them and they are 50% less weight than the 4 each 6 volt Fullriver AGM batteries that were there originally there. Basically I have 4 times the usable power than I had before. These batteries are 12 volts each in the space of a 6 volt GC2 golf cart battery. You can mount in just about any position you want. The only down side is cost. This is my home and I off grid a lot. This is still a work in progress. I still have room for 2 more batteries and need to secure them for traveling. Next will be doubling my solar to cover the amount of batteries. All charging is done with solar so not much done From chassis electrical. Hooking up batteries is not rocket science. You can use these batteries just to replace what you have in flooded batteries.

The new control panel uses the original wire and is a direct replacement. Look up setup choices and choose the one you feel is best. I found the best dealer for this is Don Rowe Company. When they answer the phone you will understand why, customer service and know their products. About $170.
Batteries can just drop in but cabling needs to be able to handle the current. Limiting charge current from the alternator is a must I feel.
Lots of less expensive choices available for lithium batteries now. I think I would choose a 280 AH SOK. Check out Will Prowse reviews on YouTube and pick one.

A new 4D , 1755 cca battery for the chassis. My 8D retired less than gracefully. It was at least 6 years old and perhaps older.

Heavy sucker. Spins the 8.3 over real nice now however.

I received my air foil baffle kit for the Dometic fridge. It will help prevent flame blow outs while I'm towing the travel trailer. I learned about this upgrade here on the forums (Thanks OldBiscuit!).

I recently bought and applied Polyglow. I've had this RV for over three years and had just about giving up hope that it would shine again. I've tried several other products and this was by far the best results with the least amount of effort. PolyPrep got rid of all the stains. I added five coats of Polyglow. The instructions were spot on when they say it could look streaky until you apply the fourth coat. Here is a before and after pic.
