Went to pick up motorhome, they finally got all the routine maintenance or I should say deferred maintenance done. Owner cranked up the genny so we could run the AC really hot down here. Well genny heated up quick so he turned it off.

He said they had had it running, nothing was done to the genny as husband had changed oil and flushed it. Soooo, it looks like its there I hope, only a few days longer. He thought the alternator on it seized and broke the belt but won't know till they pull it out. So looks like I may be buying some generator parts.

This is what happens buying an old one that sat to long and wasn't run. But it needed to have the hoses replaced anyway, did on the engine so I really don't have a problem with that. However, 2 more came in while I was there and I hope it doesn't get put to the back burner. Plans on hold for a few more days, but it will work out. I had a bunch of stuff I was going to have to come back in a week and take care of anyway, so it will be ok. ( We have lots of new parts!)

Hello Bill0828, I just got my Banks kit today and will be installing it over the weekend.
Had a cracked Exhaust Manifold so figured while I had it all apart anyway, might as well go for the Gold.
Glad to hear you are happy with it. Have you seen any improvement in fuel mileage?

The inside of the doors is fairly soft plastic so I reinforced the corner with a 2x4 inch piece of thin tinplate from Home Depot, held on by construction adhesive and several short sheet metal screws. This gave me a solid base to attach the gas strut pivot. I prevent accidental slide deployment while a door is open by the highly technical solution of a post-it note with NO in big letters which I stick over the slide switch. Think Jack Swigert in Apollo 13.
Got any pictures?

Fred, I'd be happy to post some pictures, but it will be a couple of weeks. The rig is in Oregon and we are in Florida right now on a side trip. Remind me around June 19 if I haven't posted them.

I bought this 3 days ago, to possibly use as a toad. I will have to figure out a way to make the hitch mounted rack beefer to support it. I have a friend with a Storm RV that did it, so I'll be talking to him.

Took the "batwing" off the antenna mount and installed the "Jack". I think I should have bought the whole Jack Antenna unit (the part that goes inside too) and got rid of the crank up antenna thingy, but I had bought the one that goes on the antenna thingy as an impulse at a RV show.

Does a runner rug, silverware & a metal welcome dog count.
