Awning lights and decorations was a big thing in RVing too.
Like I said the modern camper is not what it used to be.
That being said I turn my lights off around 9.
I have a little led night light plugged into my patio electric plug that stays on. Nice for getting back to camp at night, but isn't bright enough to bother anyone

I used to walk a lot at night on the roads in the campground at the Texas State Park where we volunteer until someone walking the other way met me & told me he was doing the same thing. Something told him to turn on his flashlight. In the middle of the road ahead of him was a rattlesnake. He would have been on it in 6 or 7 steps. I know he was telling the truth because he was visibly shaken.

Agree! Why would people make the effort to get away from civilization only to light up like an amusement park? We use our outside (under awning rope) lights sparingly, just when we are away from the TT in the evening to make it easier to find and unlock when we return. Then the light go off. The most I want in my campsite is the light of the campfire.
Fortunately, most folks in the national forest campgrounds I visit regularly are there for the same reasons we are. People generally are quiet and respectful.

If you don't like the smell of a campfire then you belong in an RV Park.

Yep! Can't remember the last time I was camping with no smell of smoke unless there was a fire ban on.

Go to the BLM. It is dark and quiet. Welcome your new RV guests! They chew everything.

There is NO conservation of energy anymore... We are a very wasteful nation. Just cuz they are LEDS doesn't mean their not using our resources.

Just a FYI. Some of us already live in the country, so we are not running from the city lights.
I don't run mine every night, and if I do, I shut them off when I go to bed.
I could care less if neighbors leave theirs on, I have night shades.

With all due respect! Look at your comment..then look at the Rig that you drive...which is awesome by the way!!! There is a huge degree of incongruence when comparing the two!

Sure, we can close the blinds when we're inside. Only thing, and this may sound strange, is that we enjoy time outside of the rig. I can't imagine marker lights being annoying but i certainly don't want to be blind sided by some unthinking/disrespectful person that insists on lighting up his and the next 5 campsites.

I totally understand not bothering your neighbor,,, be it at home or in a rv park.... I try not to bother anyone... BUT,,,, if I feel lights increase my security, my lights will be on,,, AS LONG AS it doesn't shine in others windows.... Our under awning LED lights go out about 20 feet maybe... at most... We always try to think of others,,, BUT our security comes first....Different world now days..... sorry bout it.... Monkey PS,,, no marker lights here,,, just camp /porch lights

Luckily I have not experienced folks leaving marker lights on. Porch or entry light, yes.
