The only time I really think of using them is if rain is expected as it helps keep tires and wheels clean, OR when we are parked for a while in direct hot sunlight. Other than that, I think there really is little long term benefit. Proper inflation and the use of a UV inhibitor such as 303 is more important IMO.

I had read that tires exuded UV protection while driven. However after about a month the protection is used up. Sooo - I only cover if I'me going to be parked longer than that. (also use 303 occasionally)
Have a nice day - Darrel

I use them only if we are staying a month or longer. Mine are black also.

I usually use them if not moving for a week or two, I do keep 303 on them as well hoping that is giving some protection not covered.when

I still don't see any benefit to tire covers. I don't see people using them on cars, trucks, boat trailers, etc. And I don't think that a stationary tire is any more susceptible to UV damage than a rolling tire.
So yeah, I'm a skeptic on this one...I think it's just another gadget to sell to RVers.

I use mine if I'm parked more than overnight. They're black.

We normally wear our car/truck tires out before they would age out, but that's not the case on the motor home. Once, we had a tire disintegrate on my wife's pickup. It just shredded during a low speed turn. We got to thinking about it and the tire was over 8 years old and had very low mileage on it.

Mine are white, I put them when I stay in Myrtle Beach for instance, and when the RV is stored for winter in Québec, but for a few days trip in new england, no.

I don't think the color they are will matter. As long as they block the sun from your tires, they are doing their job.
