I agree with you that us "brick and mortar" folks could list our home base.

Mine was in my sig until the software update. I guess I just didn't try to figure out that you could do it or how to.

It IS a good idea. We'll play but hopefully we'll not be home too much of the time! Hope, hope. Bob

Click "User CP" from top left of page then "Edit Signature" from the left hand column under "Control Panel".

In 2005 our neighbor prevented our house from being cleaned out by some men with a moving van truck and a car following. Neither had a license plate. When our neighbor confronted them with questions of who where they, why were they there, did they have a letter of authorization from me; they said they had met us at a filling station about 50 miles away and I had sold them the entire house contents.
Of course the neighbor knew better and asked them how they found the house. One guy said I had given my name and address, then they merely looked it up on Google
Nope, I don't reveal anything more detailed than my state, and there are 14 with my name here.

I think most don't put that in their signature because the signatures now have a very very limited amount of text that can be added.

Then each time they moved to a new location, they have to go into their User CP and edit their signature. I don't know about you, but that would be too much of a PITA for me.

Ah, but it doesn't...at least I don't see it. I think at one time you were able to put your location in an information box when filling out the information in the User CP area and it would show under the avatar, but apparently, that doesn't work any more as I don't see anyone's location under their avatar.

Yes, it's there. They are there for anyone that filled in that section of their profile. Not right under the avatar, Linda. Farther down, below the campfires & above the post count.
