Where is the elusive Manufacturer Installation Instructions for vent location?

I see THOUSANDS of threads and questions about where to cut the vent hole into the wall for a dryer. Everyone has this sticker in their trailer. And yet, I have not been able to find the actual "Manufacturer Installation Instructions" and have not heard of anyone else who has found them.

It would be really nice, and very SIMPLE, for there to be either a picture of where to drill, or a list of "x-inches over, y-inches up" so people arent hitting the studs or cutting into the wrong place.

Has anyone here actually seen this elusive beast?

Never had a lable on my fiver either. I simply choose a desired location, drilled a 1/4 inch hole and using a stiff piece of wire probed both sides to find any studs. Once I determined the spot was stud free I drilled a pilot hole through to the outside changed to a hole saw and drilled inside, went outside and drilled the fiberglas. Scary to punch such a big hole, but simple enough. Be sure to use lots of tape oitside where your drilling to prevent splitting the fiberglas.

That would vary by model and even within models it probably changes as the manufacturers vary their construction processes. So that's why you don't see them: there aren't any. I've never seen construction plans for any unit and this falls under the same category.

Don has laid out the only practical plan for dealing with this.

If there is no "Manufacturers Installation Instructions" then why waste all those thousands of stickers telling us to look for them?

Not sure but I think they are referring to the appliance manufacturer, not the RV.

The instructions aren't found because the tag is referring to the vent manufacturer's instructions, not the motor home manufacturer.

If it's' an electric dryer you could use a vent bucket.

Call the mfgr. and request their specific instructions.

My understanding is the stickers may just be stating that the vent is to be located on that wall, but the exact location may be determined by the dryer manufacture itself.

Venting instructions come with the dryer and specifics for the vent hole location would be part of the vent package. The RV manufacturer doesn't know what dryer you may install or the vent you will choose, so he refers you to the instructions that should have been supplied with the dryer and vent.

As well as running a hole saw in reverse to cut thru the surface. But we are talking a good size hole here.
