Where the heck am I?

Sometimes, when we travel a lot, I’ll wake up in the morning, a bit groggy, and think to myself, “where the heck are we?” LOL!

Anyone else ever think that?

In my younger days the answer may have been "You are in a dumpster behind a bar."

This reminds me of a quick story. Prior to GPS many years back I was travelling with a paper map and was not sure where I was at exactly as I wasn't watching the map and road signs like I should have been. I stopped at a gas station in a small town and asked the man if he would tell me where I was at and he answered with a chew of tobacco in his mouth something that sounded like Maahaaea so I asked again and he answered the same. I couldn't find anything on the map that came even close to what he said so I decided to stop and get something to eat and ask someone inside there. So I went to the counter to order something to eat and I asked the young lady, I said to her, "I am traveling and I have already asked someone else that I couldn't understand, but can you clearly and slowly tell me where the heck I am at?" She answered very slowly "D A I R Y Q U E E N" and stared at me. So I told her, "Thank You very much and in that case I would like to order a hamburger, fries and a DQ Blizzard." ~CA

Used to travel a lot for work and it happened often. Even forgot what kind of rental car I had one time in a restaurant. Had to go through the lot comparing license plates to my key ring.

"Johnynorthla"......okay, maybe slow down on the Jack Daniels before bed....

I don't have an issue with remembering where I'm at, but occasionally after a long day's drive (400 or 500) miles, it often feels like the camp chair or recliner I'm sitting in is vibrating. It's similar to when we had our boat and would feel like we were still rocking in the boat when we returned to camp.

Yes, that happens to me from time to time. And almost daily, I am not sure what day of the week it is or the date..... Good thing the Lovely and Talented Mrs Gypsy is still alert and can keep me from losing it.

Regards.

Chuck

Some of my favorite memories as a kid were waking up in my parent's GMC motorhome while traveling cross country, I always remember waking up and looking out the windshield as we were driving and asking where we were.

V.O. for me, but it's absorbed before dinner, so the buzz is gone by bedtime!
