where to keep registration

My license plates and registration came in the mail this week and it dawned on me that I don't know where I am legally required to keep it. Is it supposed to stay in the trailer? In the glove box of the truck?

We keep them all together as a LEO may just sometime ask for "License, Registration, and proof of insurance". YMMV
Happy Trails.

I keep all my trailers registrations and insirance cards in the Dodge. It's the only truck we have likely to pull them. The wife's Tacoma doesn't even have a hitch.

All I keep in my vehicle is proof of insurance. per advice from detective in charge of fraud and thievery in our town. He claims that registration enables thieves to more easily sell your stolen vehicle. YMMV

Have a nice day - Darrel

Registration and proof of insurance in a large plastic Ziploc bag stowed in the pouch behind the driver's seat for easy access.

When I lived in Texas all I carried was proof of insurance, title and registration stayed at home in the safe. Now living in Florida and I am required to carry registration in the vehicle along with proof of insurance, title still in the safe.

Unfortunately an individual traveling in a leased, or financed (lien held vehicle) isn't going to have possession of a "title", nor should an owner carry one around.
If you're not able to or willing to provide "A valid License, vehicle Registration (tag /Tab receipt) , and proof of insurance, (*in most states)" A LEO will be more than willing to allow you to explain the reason(s) before a judge in their jurisdiction. You can make it as easy or difficult as you feel comfortable with.

I keep original registration and proof of insurance in the motorhome. I have scanned all important documents including the above and store those copies on the cloud.

You, the vehicle operator, are legally required to produce the vehicle registration, proof of insurance, and your driving license on demand by any law enforcement officer. How you meet that requirement is up to you. Keep them in any safe and convenient place.

We Carrie ours in the glovebox of the truck. The 5er doesn't go anywhere the truck doesn't take her.
