Where to purchase Opti-lube?

For those who use Opti-lube(Summer)...where do you buy it? I see it on Amazon, wanted to see if a cheaper place to purchase.

Thanks...

Better...you mean less expensive?
Google shows dealers that carry it.

Checked Amazon...$28 (quart) with free shipping.

I purchased it several years ago but can not remember from where. It was cheaper than amazon though.

I use the Opti-Lube XPD year round and buy it directly from Opti-Lube. It's $54.00, the Summer Blend is $55. I buy two gallons at a time and $19.00 shipping.

Aren't modern injector pumps designed to run on low sulfur fuels? Most of this fuel lubricant stuff was made for fuel systems designed before the low sulfur fuel area.

"mobilemike".....sulfur was the lubricant and when they removed it, lubrication became an issue. This always gets into a debate about the need for additives. Some guy will come along and say....Cummins doesn't say I need it so I'm not using it! Well, a few years ago, Cummins did say you need it and recommended buying their additive. The same guy will argue....they're just trying to sell their additives. So which is it, they're lying or trying to sell additives. You'll never change this guy's mind.

Here's why there is a need for additives. The Government determines the level of lubricity in diesel fuel. If that level could be guaranteed and found in every drop of diesel fuel sold, there would be no need for additives, except those for gelling and when you have water in your fuel.

BUT...spot checks nationwide have shown that diesel fuel often does not meet the minimum lubricity standards. They didn't find every gallon of fuel didn't meet the standards, but they did find on occasion that it didn't. For that reason, I buy a little insurance and use OptiLube, one of the best rated additives for lubricity.

Today's diesel fuel doesn't even meet manufacturer standards. In 2017, they introduced Top Tier diesel that does meet those standards. And US diesel is 40 cetane compared to over 50 cetane in Europe.

To answer the OP question, I use Summer Plus because XPD has anti-gel not needed most of the year and is way too expensive per use. Summer Plus is about the least expensive additive per use.
