Where to put states visited map - DONE

Been struggeling with where to put the map for awhile and finally found it. Front of livingroom slide is one big blank white space. Protected on the road and in storage but highly visable to anyone walking by the front. If it holds up as I expect it will, I will add some signage with our first names where we are from and other fun facts.

Excellent choice. Ours has held up well there for 4 years and 34,000 miles. I like the idea about additional signage too and may steal it!

We put ours on a piece of plexi glass and used velcro to hang it on the inside of door . It was visable to the outside world when our door was open and to us when the door was closed. The best part is that it is now prominantly displayed in our stick house with 49 states filled in. We also went to 10 Cdn. prov. but didn't have that map. We are on our second time around but traveling a lot differently now , spending a few months in a state rather than running through it .

We keep ours on the inside of the entrance door. I like Cliff's idea of putting it on a piece of plexi glass, so when I replace it, a piece of the plastic will be used. I want to put up a Canadian provinces map too, but one was about $43.00 on a website that I found. A little to pricey for me.

Why do you have a map? Why don't you just put the info a log book?

I have been looking at these in camp grounds. Where do you get the map and the stickers. I think they are the cat's meow and cannot wait to start filling one up. Yes you could keep it in a log but then it wouldn't be displayed. It becomes a great conversation piece in the CG's. Thanks all

We have found that it really is a source of conversation at CGs. We have 34 states filled in and young kids often times are amazed and want to talk to us about where we've been and what we've seen. It's become a source of pride in an odd sort of way.

Camping World has them for about $15 I think.

We can agree with Rick O, we have ours on the curb side of our Bounder. Our goal is to stay and golf in all 50 states (49 of which will be with the Bounder). We have NJ and HI missing from our map after 4+ years of FT. Plus, I like looking at it just to see and remember the places we have been so far. Our next step is to visit them all again.

I need to get one of those.

Are they removeable?

When you get a new RV, do you start over?

Dyers has one that is held on with suction cups. Really nice. I was impressed and it fits right on the front of the port side slide

We have ours stuck on the outside of the living room window on the outside. People passing us often wave becasue of it (we think). We have 4 states left (IA, MN, ND, SD) and hope to start getting them within the month. We also put a very small one that came free with our Good Sam info on the outside next to the entrance door, but it quickly fell off. We have another and will tape it to the inside of the kitchen window facing out. It is a great conversation starter and it lets people know we are not novices. You can get an electronic version at Visited States.

Fisherman's State Park, Rhode Island is great.
Our kids enjoy the special event of putting the new state on the map when we have reached it! But I love the idea of plexi, to keep.

We keep ours on the inside of the entry door. I use stars to show where we have camped and I will add a state to the map if we have traveled in the state. I am missing WA, OR, ND, WI, & ME.
