BTW... our Wal Mart has atlases back by the auto servicing dept. Try there. They used to have them up front by the check-outs.

I tried automotive...no dice. Asked an employee, who told me if they have them, they would be in the book section. No dice.
I just ordered the large scale spiral bound Rand McNally from AbeBooks. Free shipping, so it ends up a buck or two cheaper than ordering from Wal Mart, Target, or Amazon, and I get to support a small business.

Keep in mind Amazon is the middle-man between the seller and buyer. For the vast majority of items for sale they have no control over price.
I buy an new RM trucker's road atlas every 3 years. Little has changed to highways and roads in 3 years. I always compare what my GPS indicates to the road atlas for unknown territory.

We still use Delorme Street Atlas USA which was discontinued in 2015. Haven't found any issues as to where we're going. It's an awesome mapping program and you can create your route offline and then plug it into the GPS while driving. There hasn't been any good replacement for it. We never had problems with not using truck routes and we traveled secondary roads all the time. However, a paper map is still our first 'go to' for the big picture.

I purchased both of the Rand atlases mentioned here a few months ago from walmart.com. The atlas was under $14(large print)and the motor carriers was under $18 (paperback version but spiral bound). I ordered a 3rd book so order was over $35. And i got free shipping. Packaging was very good and the atlases arrived quickly with no damage. Happy with both. We never travel anywhere without an atlas in the vehicle.

The Good Sam atlas has all the campgrounds on the maps.
But the trucker map is good too.

I buy a Rand McNally truckers road atlas. The safe roads fro semi-tractor trailers are highlighted in orange. If the road is designated safe for them it's safe for me too.
Do not buy from Amazon their price is almost 2X as from RM directly.
