Which Roadside Assistance?

Well it's time to renew my Roadside Assistance and TravelAssit with Good Sam. Been looking at other providers and was wondering who you suggest that is more cost effective for the service they provide.
Thanks

Currently have Good Sam but the renewal is more than Family Motor Coach.

Used to be able to get the teaser rate by alternating with renewal in wife's name then mine but now you have to be out of Good Sam for six months so I alternate with Family Motor Coach

I have been with Good Sam since 2001 but will definitely be changing to FMCA at the next renewal!

Howdy!

We had Good Sam ERS and dropped it after they stiffed us for a$2,000.00 towing bill on a trip to Alaska several years ago. We now have Coach Net and they have provided us with great service. We had a breakdown last year once again going to Alaska. CN towed our MDT which lost the turbo and our 5er to a nearby campground. Only thing they asked was where we wanted the truck to be towed to. They may cost more but we get what we pay for.

We added the RV Plus to our AAA membership and have had to use it twice to tow our motorhome, once in North Dakota and this past summer in Wisconsin. Have been very pleased.

Thanks for you post! We are looking at AAA with RV as well.....and live in Wisconsin. Would you mind sharing which plan you are enrolled in? We are probably looking at the Premier plan.

Another one ditching Good Sam Roadside with their inflated renewal rates for FMCA.

And GS Travelassist is next to worthless.

We have the AAA Plus / Plus RV. If you go with the Premier plan make sure you can add the RV coverage. In looking at their comparison chart of the three different coverages they offer, it looks like AAA Plus/Plus RV (this is the middle one) is the only one that specifically covers RVs. Just a AAA membership does not automatically include RVs, that is additional.

Had Good Sam but was tired of the rate changing all the time.

So joined FMCA and went with their Roadside Rescue plan for an additional (I think) $68/yr for two years. Just joining FMCA you get FMCASSIST Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program. See their site for details but for me the camper gets returned home if I cannot get it there. I travel alone so that is a big thing.

OP, seems you have a Ford based Class A motorhome. True? If so you should already have free RSS from Ford for five years. Check into it. Then check with your insurance company and see if they offer the coverage. Have no opinion on travel assist other than I didn’t use it when it was free.

I dropped GS a couple of years ago and switched over to CoachNet. I'm up for renewal again and this time joined FMCA and bought their plan. Seems to be very comparible to the CN plan and less $ even when considering the membership fee. CN has raised their fees too much and too quickly imho. I'll be interested to see the FMCA magazine as well. I'll probably drop Motorhome magazine I have been subscribing to as at least 50% of it is just an ad for Camping World.

I have AMAs as well. I didn’t realize it extended to motorhomes too.
