To RV Wizard;

F or informational purposes;

Massachusetts has a same rate for all companies, no competition. Some companies offered safe driver discounts, but most are phasing them out.

M ***. won't let any carrier that will not, does not have all liability coverage, auto, for all risks,

The true RVns companies. Progressive, Formost and others that don't write regular auto policies are'nt licenced to sell any of their products.

A political mess and a consumer nightmare.

We probably have more operators without licences, insurance and so on and as a result the good, licenced, insured operators pay through the nose.

We are trying to change it, but it only comes up at budget time so it gets pushed aside.

I know this info is'nt what you requested but I thought you would be interested.

Thanks=========== AJBJRVERS

Mike, I use National Interstate - often called Farm & City, since Farm & City Insurance Services is a large volume insurance broker.

I started with GMAC because their quote was slightly less than Progressive. They gave me a quote but when the policy came it was higher and they gave me some flimsy excuse as to why and how their quote was "tentative". When it came renewal time they raised the rates again, even though I never had a claim with them. I also had trouble communicating with them and when I called them back asking why they hadn't returned my call they said they weren't allowed to make outgoing calls.

So, I switched to Progressive, who was less. I did have one windshield claim with them and they were excellent to work with and easy to communicte with. When renewal time came my rate actually went down, not up.

I realize that rates vary accross the country but this was my experience anyway.

I voted GMAC since we have Good Sam VIP coverage on all our vehicles (including the RV but excepting the motorcycle). Good Sam VIP is underwritten and administered by GMAC.

Insurance carriers for rv insurance in Canada are highly regionalized. People in BC, Alberta and Ontario have a great big advantage over other provinces, because there are insurers which will cover them, but which won't insure people from other less populous provinces.

My carrier which insures my TC is in New Brunswick.

Texas Great Farm Mutual, which is a division of National Interstate. Our agency is AON Recreation, formerly RV Alliance.

We are with AON recreation insurance on RV & Harley about 1/3 the price of GMAC. Also 2 cars and 2 trucks with Ky. Farm Bureau.

We have carried all of our insurance with State Farm for over 25 years... home, auto, RV, and umbrella. No other company has been able to come within 5% of what we are paying State Farm, and its service has been nothing but the best. We've not had more than 2 claims to file during that 25 years, and qualify for all the discounts they apply to good drivers, as well as "longevity" discounts.

We use Good Sam ERS and have had to use it once in the 6 years we've had it. Great service there, too.

Paul,when I recently bought the new coach,I "followed" another forum where some folks recommended insurance companies,thinking all the while I was going to beat State Farm,who I've used for years....
Not only do I have our home and vehicles with them,but rental properties as well....

What a surprise!
Because of the "tiered" level of my insurance,no none could touch their rate....

Sign me.....another happy State Farmer.
