Now I began to think that this was quite funny, so I drove even slower as I passed the area once more, but the traffic camera again flashed.

I tried a fourth and fifth time with the same results and was now laughing as the camera flashed while I rolled past at a snail's pace. Two weeks later, I got five tickets in the mail for driving without a seat belt.

You can't fix stupid
I don't care who you are, that right there is funny! Joe

I admit I haven't read all the posts but I don't think anyone has mentioned the term "Spirit of the Law" and the attitude of the individual. CHP tends to be less liberal than the local Sheriff Deputies. Spirit of the Law is a very important concept but when you have an attitude you might as well kiss your butt goodbye.

Wether a ticket is written or not is up to the individual officer and often depends upon the violator. None of our deputies are ordered to write tickets, ever. Cop an attitude you get the ticket. As to enhancing revenue I've never seen how that could work. Just not enough tickets.

I got 2 warnings, one in FLAGSTAF Arizona for doing 75 on 60,
the other one was in Saltillo Mexico for doing 75mph on 75kph,
both officers said the same thing, let me see your house, they came in sat down in the sofa, said this thing is nice, asked a lot of questions about it and ofcourse i was the most polite person in the world,(had to be in such a situation) and got away with just a warning, been more careful since then

Hummmmmmmmm? NOPE, never had one. NEVER.. Not in my motor home. I had one in my Pick up for doing 45 in a 35 that was not marked on the road. (go figure) I had to wait in line for the citation and the sheriff told me that for $175.oo I could take a video ''course'' from the FHP and have the ticket ''expunged''. The ''Course'' was a video from ''Video World'' and then I took a really difficult test over the phone. Really hard stuff like...."Name the days of the week that start with the letter ''T''? ''Which is slicker, Ice, water, dry pavement?'' I could have passed the test without renting the Video but you had to have the Video certification number to qualify.

Amazingly I got 98 percent of the questions right and they sent me a certificate of completion and the notice of expunging the ticket so it would not show up on my insurance .....

Such is life .......

I have a friend who got pulled over coming out of Florida doing 94. The officer was exasperated and told him "I didn't know these things would go that fast. Expecially pulling a vehicle." He laughed, chatted, and let him go. Must be the value of having a coffee shop story.

I hope your friend has changed his driving habits.
