Who wants to drive an RV from Chicago to Nashville
I think I found the perfect RV for me. I am ok with buying it sight unseen and having the pre purchase inspection done. I will have at least 2 new tires put on the front. Not sure of the condition of the remaining.
Its an older 86 Holiday Rambler Imperial
I will have insurance and roadside before I buy it.
I am recovering from a herniated disc and won't be able to drive it for several weeks.
Any EXPERIENCED RV'r looking for a 1 way trip from Chicago to Nashville?
What would it take? I think its an 8 hr drive in a car.
Flights on SW can be as cheap as $200 each.
Not sure if anybody is up for an adventure. I can show them the sights around town. Great nightlife, restaurants etc.
thoughts??

Also trying to get exact location in Chicago of RV. Is there anybody that is willing to check the RV our for me?!
If I can confirm it is not a scam (really don't think it is) he might hold it form me for a few weeks so I can fly up and drive it back.
Of course there is compensation. I actually feel more confident that somebody on this forum can inspect it better than the pre-inspection done at some repair shops.

Fellow RV'r to look at RV near Chicago, Downers Grove area
Ignore the original post, I am wondering if anybody can swing by and look at an RV in the Downers Grove area of Chicago. It's a good deal and won't last long. I mainly want confirmation that it exists and check it out a bit. Look at tires etc. Ill pay $100 for a few hours work.
Let me know if anybody is interested.
Thanks

Good luck with it, I was considering your first offer. (I have a CDL B and drive a 39 foot school bus for a living)

If it's in the rough side of Chicago, watch out. It could be full of bullet holes and rusted out.

I've owned a 34' and a 36', and semi-retired and may be able to give you some help getting it to Nashville. Give me your email address or a phone number where I can reach you and we can figure out details.

WOW Looks nice I like those years. The front ends look so huge.
Good job, I just hope you are one of the lucky ones that purchase a oldie but a GOODY one. From the couple pictures on the inside that looks good also.Looks like the exterior is nice and shine, Is it wax or zep? looks good.

I think its wax if not just original paint finish. The owner doesn't sound like one to do the zepp finish on it. He kept it inside his warehouse of his plumbing supply company it's whole life. It's the only one I have seen with this age without cracked stripes or serious fading. The interior looks new but dated. Even the generator looks mint. The tires show that they are Michelin which tells me the guy wasn't a bargain hunter, he did things right. Btw, every one I looked at had generic tires that were manufactured in the 90's!
Soooo excited to get my hands on it!
