Anyone want to take bets on pump prices dropping the same percentage as crude did this week?

Wow! What a difference since hitting the road in September. At Flying J's I paid as much as $4.199 in Indiana (9-15-08) and as little as $1.769 at Seffner, FL (11-23-08).

The sources who predicted the price of fuel would "tank" later in '08 were correct after all.

Call me a conspiratorialist, but I think the gas prices were inflated to make us grateful of getting gas any cheaper at all. If it's $5 a gallon, then $3 doesn't seem so bad. I read so many conflicting articles about the high gas prices . . . none of them made any sense. It was ridiculous and a lot of people got really rich off of the devastation of others . . . .
