Window Clearance

Going to replace my Norcold 1200 with a new Hair Stanless refer. I'm out of the country till March so I need some help/advice. The new unit is 26 " deep can it be put in through the side window or does it have to go through the windshield my 1998 safari Ivory ?

Unless your coach has the mid entry door, they probably will use the driver's side window...that thing is huge. Front entry door model...to small. The front windshield, IMO, can be easily broken on removal/installation, where as the driver's side window is less likely broken in it's stronger framing.

Split windshields(especially on older models)will usually need a new seal once disturbed...maybe both sides depending how brittle the seal is. Butyl tape can be used to water proof the side window frame.

I doubt if anybody here knows the window sizes on a '98 Safari. Or can guess which Haier Stainless fridge model you bought and its dimensions (they run from 10-27 cu ft).

Typically the doors are removed from the fridge, which considerably decreases the size. Might go thru your entry door, but making the turn can be a problem on front entry models.

BTW, you also have to get the old 1200 OUT of the coach, and that's a big box. Plan on removing its doors and also stripping the cooling unit from the back. That helps a lot!

We tried to bring the Samsung rf18 into the front door, I even removed the passenger seat, it fit through the door but the overhead TV cabinet was a deal breaker. We had removed the doors.
We ended up taking out a side window, which is what we should have done in the first place. I have a tractor with forks and was able to lay it down on the forks and just slide through the window resting it on the dining table. Then put it onto the floor.

I hit the same obstacle. Since my only other option was going through the windshield, I dismantled the TV cabinet and brought the RF18 through the front door.

Double check your front door measurement. On my Diplomat, I was able to disconnect the door arm at the top and swing the front passenger mirror forward. This allowed the front door to swing all the way forward, parallel to the coach, adding about 3" of clearance.
