Windshield insurance
Does Anybody know about policies that cover glass breakage. I have read a lot about coverage but where do you get it, does Good Sam's have a policy or who does.

I thought they all had glass coverage they came to my house and change a HR windshield for me no problem. Some policies have a reduced deductible for windshields.

Where you get it: Same place you get collision or comprehensive. Talk to your insurance agent.. What do they cover... Read the fine print, as you may know insurance compnies invented fine print (in partnership with banks) so be sure to read the fine print.. Varies from policy to policy.

I checked all that stuff but someone posted something about buying extra policy for like $125. Windshields can be in the $500 to $1000 and up range and he said it was better to have the added policy. My deductibe is $1000 so I quess I would have to pay for a windshield so thats why I ask if anyone knows, thanks for the info.

OK, I'll admit I'm a little obsessive about a clean windshield. So, when we bought our coach, the dealer offered a product that claimed to do all kinds of things to make the windshield 'better'. Water runs off, reduces night glare, makes the glass stronger (to reduce chips/cracks), etc. Plus, after the product was applied, the windshield was covered for chips/cracks for 5 years (no deductible).
Now, with less than 3,000 miles (and no experience with a non-coated windshield on my RV, I'm not ready to give a glowing endorsement of the product. No chips or cracks, either...so I can't attest to the warranty.
Anyway, the product is Crystal Fusion. Here's a link to their website: CrystalFusion
Part of my reason for buying this product was to keep any windshield claims separate from any other claims I might need to make.
It's a beautiful view out my one-piece windshield. I'm sure the replacement cost would be significant.
Take care,
Stu

Glass coverage is part of my insurance coverage on the MH. When we went to Alaska I paid a couple of dollars more and dropped the glass deductible from $250 to $100. Didn't have to use it.

In Florida all full coverage policy's come with a 0 deductible for windshields.
No matter what Insurance Co. you have.
Liability only policy's no coverage.

I am insured by Progressive. I have $500.00 deductible collison, $500,000.00 liability and full glass coverage with no deductible which has paid for one windshield repair so far. I also have liability coverage on my trailer insurance.
Talk to your insurance agent about glass coverage.
It is all the glass that is usually covered not just the windshield.

WORD TO THE WISE......
I took my pick up in to have the oil changed at one of those Grease Monkey.
I was sitting in the lobby when a tech. came in and asked whom my insurance was with. I told him Formost and why did he need this information. he said my windshield had a ''stone crack'' in it and it needed to be repaired. He said he could do the repair and my insurance company would pay for the repair with no cost to me. I asked where the ''crack'' was located in the windshield and he said in the passanger side of the windshield. He said not to worry about it because my insuance would cover all repairs. I asked how much for the repair and he said $65.00 to fix the ''crack''. I went outside and sat down in the passenger seat and could not see a ''crack in the windshield''. He pointed to what could have been a microscopic chip in the windshield and told me that this is where your trouble is and it needs to be repaired at no cost to you. To find it he took a grease pin and rubbed the windshield and then took a rag and rubbed the windshield to reveal the ''crack''..... He again told me that it was ''FREE'' and was covered by my insurance. I told him to stick it and refused the service because it was a ''SCAM''... He seemed very upset and told me that if I would have it ''repaired'' I would get a ''discount'' on my next oil change at Grease Monkey.
I guess the moral to the story is to watch these people that want to fix a bad place in your windshield that they need a microscope to find.
I am ready for our troops to come home today.......

Our insurance broker put us with Progressive for our MH. The policy has 'windshield' glass coverage with NO deductible.

I have Allstate and am in the process of replacing the passanger side in my Motorhome. On the RV I have $250 deductable and $0 deductable on my cars. The added cost to have $0 deductable on my Motorhome was not woth the extra cost unless I was knocking out a windshield once a year.
