Worst stretch of interstate in the US

First off - I haven't driven every mile of interstate in the US but this is my experience

The worst interstate road .... I believe ... in the US is:

I55 north of West Memphis for about 10 miles

There are rough joints at each slab for 10 miles
It will shake your RV apart
It will jar the Caps off your teeth
It will shake the glasses off your face

I can't imagine that it doesn't cause mechanical parts to loosen, pex joints to loosen, carpentry to loose .... not to mention doors to open and stuff to hit the floor ... this can't be good for your RV.

Drove just a short section of I55 over 20 years ago and it was the same then. As soon as I crossed in to Arkansas, it was like driving over a bombed highway in a war zone.

I-40 across northern Arizona has/had potholes so bad they would shred the tires in our F-350 dually tow vehicles to pieces in a single trip.

I-25 on Monument hill in Colorado has construction going on, and it ranges from bad to very bad depending on where they are at in the project. Narrow lanes, mud/dirt, no lane markers, etc. At one point, the wind turbine factory was hauling parts through here too, but I haven't seen them for a couple of months. The oversize loads would slow traffic down to about 5 mph, which was safer, but pretty annoying

I95 in Georgia. Needs major repairs. We almost lost our trailer in one spot because of a BIG dip in the road. The least they could do is warn people.

Hwy 17 between Los Gatos, CA and Santa Cruz, CA
I'll do almost anything to avoid that stretch of highway, and won't tow over it, though I did years ago when I towed a tandem enclosed trailer to/from Scotts Valley from Sacramento every month or two for an antique auction.
Traffic speed is over the speed limit and way too fast for the road, lanes too narrow for comfort, no run-off anywhere, and the median is a concrete barrier right next to your drivers side mirror, up to about eye level, that is completely covered with tire marks from bottom to top from prior "incidents" and the base of the wall is buried in shattered bits of plastic car parts.

The surface through there is often below par, but the roadway is pretty good, without too many worrisome curves or problem grades. It seems every few years major sections of that Hwy are under total reconstruction to replace the entire roadbed and roadway, leaving traffic running in single-lanes. I think the heavy winter traffic, freeze-thaw heave and overall busy-ness of that stretch are pretty hard on the whole thing, especially the parts that are on north-facing slopes.

Maybe it's time to start speaking up to your 'elected' officials!

Your tax dollars are supposed to be spent repairing these interstates!
