IC2, if you have a Costco membership watch for the LED fixtures on sale there. At $20 it's not worth buying led bulbs and rewiring your existing fixtures.

Don't I wish!!
The closest Costco is 85 miles away in W. Springfield, MA. Unfortunately the NY Capital District is still in the stone age for many goods and services regardless of the fact that the economic downturn of a few years ago never impacted the area very hard

My note above was more to warn folks that by just going to their nearest Big Box store and grabbing a handful of LED tubes that they need to be aware that all replacements are not equal and those existing fixtures with ballasts really end up with a much lesser savings, wasting energy to 'fire' them up.

I found that out too. My local Menards advertises the entire LED fixture for less than a florescent fixture.

We don't have a Menard's anywhere close either - a dozen or more each Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's who seldom have the lowest prices or even a decent selection, hence, as noted a stone age area.

We are on a first name basis with the USPS/UPS/FedEx folks though via internet sales deliveries

I'm just now installing lighting in my 60x42x16 garage. I went with 3 rows of 4 LED 48" fixtures and 2 mounted on the back wall @ 8' high so I can work on my engine in the light. Should be finished and lit by the end of next week. I'll report back on the outcome. I have high hopes....

I bought a 2x four foot led fixture from Costco That I put in my well pump room. Then I got another that I use as a work light. It is light enough (weight) that I can hang it under a hood or inside a car wiring consoles. I also bought two LED tubes that went directly into the fixture without mods. Then I got another LED that I use as a worklight and it rides in a compartment in the MH.
