WOW ! AMAZING customer service from Camping World

I ordered a set of LED lights for our coach online from Camping World. I received an email with the order number and a link to their "check order status" page. I tried to get updated status on the order but the page didn't seem to be working. I finally posted an inquiry to their internet forum. Within minutes I got a note from their customer service asking me to send a PM with the order information. I did that and again within minutes I got a phone call from customer service. They explained the order was shipped yesterday, directly from the manufacturer, so their system isn't used for tracking purposes. This all happened within around 60 minutes time

Say what you will about Camping World but I have never experienced the level of customer service, either in terms of time or quality, that I got here.

It does happen, sometimes you get some employees that actually do their job and do it efficiently and with some pride. Glad you got to experience this.

I think the bigger issues start when you let them touch your coach....

Actually, I have had them touch my coach. I bought a new Splendide washer/dryer combo to replace the old that was in there. Got a great deal on sale at the CW in Tucson (they honored their internet sale price) and they did the installation (including the removal of the old one) in 2 hours . The unit was installed in a very tight area and required the removal of door moulding and likely the passenger seat.

The job was done quickly, cleanly and at a more than reasonable price. They did contract their service out to an independent shop at the time but I left that experience happy as well.

Over the past 3 years we've also bought all new window treatments (day/night shades) and many other items from that store with no complaints. I guess we're just continually fortunate

I tend to get good results in BUYING stuff. The problems arise when they WORK ON stuff. On two occasions I have BOUGHT stuff, a toilet, for instance. They had a special where they would install the toilet for $ 60.00. Well, that was a little high, but who wants to mess with a toilet, so I said OK. I gave them my telephone number and came back in 6 hours, and they said, "Oh! There is a problem! We are going to have to re-do the whizz Gizz, blahh blahh, etc. And it is now going to cost $ 600! To install a toilet!

So, I said, " OI don't think so. Put the toilet back in the box, I will pay for it, and get it installed else where."

They weren't happy, but they did it. I got a Mobile Repairman to install it-----wait for it-- $ 55.00.

They other deal was about the same. This sounds like BAIT AND SWITCH TO ME!

The Mobile Repairman DID say he had a little trouble getting one of the nuts off, but he squirted some penetrating oil , and it came right off.

I have to agree with this.

I don't know about all CW stores but the one near us tells me that their Service Dept. is not affiliated with the store side. All the Service Techs are independant contractors.

I have never had an issue with purchasing new products from the store or any salesman showing us new or used units.

The Service Dept on the other hand. My unit was there for 2 months just to replace the battery disconnect solenoid, they installed the wrong one and it burnt up, almost causing a fire, I returned the unit to CW and they had it another 2 months and still couldn't get the correct solenoid installed, I gave up and made them put in a manuel disconnect so I could have my coach back and use it. And this was all under my extended warranty otherwise I would have done it myself.

Not sure if it's the lack of expeirence in the contractors they hire or they just don't care.

I would say you are fortunate to be near one of the few CW's with a good service dept. From reading posts on various forums, it would appear most aren't. Closest one to me is in Akron, Oho and I wouldn't want them to repair an old pair of roller skates.

I have used Camping World in Jacksonville and St Augustine, Fl and always had excellent service on my rv. I believe that you only hear what they did wrong and very rarely on the excellent service. With the amount of complaints you read, this company should have closed a long time ago.

It's not just CW. I ordered a new roof for a popup camper directly from the Palomino Dealer. The 6 week lead time for the roof took 6 months and the 1 day install took another 2 months! And they had the gaul to try to charge storage fees for the time they had it waiting for parts and to do the work! Well lots of back and forth and a threat to call the Attorney General's office we got the storage fees dropped and the roof on. Just sold that oil just to get away from the bad juju

They would be wise to have a Mystery Shopper visit their stores and service centers and get their issues resolved.

After buying my rig in February, I had to get a lot of stuff to equip it. I bought through CW online. No problems at all.

I also went to my nearest CW in Valencia, CA and had no problems buying stuff.

I haven't had any need for repairs, etc. Anyone have some feedback on the CW Valencia's service department?
